Covey Hill Cabin

Situated in the pictoresque Southwestern Townships of Quebec about 50km South of Montreal and about 200 km from Ottawa it is the perfect destination for romantic getaways, private hunting trips or simply a tranquil place of refuge to unwind and recharge the batteries.

This charming heritage log cabin has 2 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, living room...open concept... with cathedral ceiling, large natural stone fireplace and a large bay window that overlooks a long grassy slope with a very quiet spring-fed pond at the end of it. It is located on a private 149 acre wooded lot, with a panoramic view overlooking rural countryside, apple orchards and Lac St-Louis in the far distance.

Nicely furnished with Quebec Antiques, oak floors and a picturesque stone fireplace where you can curl up in front of the fire, this heritage getaway offers rustic comfort any time of the year. There is a telephone, a small TV set suitable for watching the news and weather, and a basic sound system. NO cutting edge technology! The kitchen is functional. It is equipped with a microwave, stove, fridge, toaster-oven, coffee-maker with pots pans and all necessary utensils. The farm table seats 6 comfortably. We request that guests do not smoke inside the cabin. Photos can be viewed from the Covey Hill Cabin Photo Gallery and a map can be viewed from the local attractions page.

The summer offers excellent mountain biking, bird watching, and hiking trails around the property. Abundant wildlife including raccoon, flying squirrels, deer, porcupine, and bird-life including wild turkeys are found on and around the property.

For the winter season, several cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing opportunities are available. Well insulated, the air tight cast-iron wood-stove which has been inserted into the large natural stone fireplace keeps the entire cabin quite warm. Good quality firewood is supplied. The cabin has a small bathtub, with 2 upstairs bedrooms.

The roads are kept in good state (many of the people in the area are year-round residents who commute daily to Montreal) but in winter, ice/snow tires are recommended for a hill leading to the property. Plenty of parking is available. It is recommended that you bring along enough food and supplies for the duration of your stay however village shopping and dinning opportunities are available within short driving distances.
